Easy chocolate Valentine cake

A simple and delicious dessert to surprise your beloved ones with a soft, moist and delicious one-bowl cake, ready in few minutes!

Ingredients:

- 260g flour (rice flour for the gluten-free version)

- 40g Monforte Choc sweet cocoa

- 80g sugar

- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 5 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

- 1 pinch of salt

- zest of 1 BIO orange

- 200g freshly squeezed orange juice

- icing sugar to taste

Method:

  • Mix all dry ingredients (flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, baking soda) in a bowl and create two wells with a tablespoon. Pour the apple cider vinegar into one and the extra virgin olive oil into the other one.
  • Add the grated orange zest to the bowl.
  • Add the freshly squeezed orange juice and combine the mixture thoroughly using a whisk to break up lumps, and then a fork, until the mixture is smooth and dense.
  • Pour it into a greased and floured heart-shaped mold (22cm diameter).
  • Bake at 180°C for 30 minutes and use a toothpick to check whether it's well cooked.
  • Wait until cold, place the cake into a tray and decorate with icing sugar.

Tips:

For a gourmand touch, decorate with Monfortechoc hot chocolate (cold and very thick), spreading it over the surface with a spatula. Enjoy!
